14 Books that Obey the Philosophy of "The Secret" by Rhonda Byrne

Internationally popular, 'The Secret by Rhonda Byrne has been a popular choice, with its uncovering power of manifestation for the general audience and the masses but, Byrne is not the first to talk about it.

Manifestation or the Law of Attraction is now a well-known concept, but it's less than 200 years old in philosophy. It states that all wishes and positive and negative wants become realised if we manifest them to the universe.

How does Manifestation Work?

Manifestation might now only be a term popular in people's Twitter bio, but it is an ancient practice used by many over the years to gain massive opportunities and success.

The philosophy or scene behind the power of manifestation claims that we are all made up of energies. When we yearn for any event or object we project that energy into the universe to attract that in our life.

To attract the focus of our desire we only need to imagine, talk or think about it to the fullest extent. if it is the first thing on your mind in the morning and the last thing you talk about before your head hits the pillow, you are arranging it closer to you with each action.

In Hindu households, the same concept has come to life with the philosophy of Saraswati. Parents or grandparents always advise to speak carefully before throwing words out of one's mouth, or it becomes reality. That is a close concept to the power of manifestation.

There is truth and logic to this pseudoscientific belief that has been well explained in these books.

Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile (2019) Review

Even if you are mildly interested in true crime and crime dramas, the names of Ted Bundy and Jeffery  Dahmer are  not unknown to you. The mainstream media and the internet have a strange yet understandable fascination with the minds of these twisted creatures. If you search for “Ted” on google, Ted Bundy would be the second recommendation on the site, which speaks volumes for the popularity of the psychotic serial killer. Even after 30 years of execution of Ted Bundy, he remains one of the most notorious serial killers on the planet.  In 2019, American filmmaker Joe Berlinger directed 'Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile' which became the hot topic of American cinema. The film tells the tale of the crime and trial of Theodore Bundy. Starring Zac Efron as Ted, the movie has been very successful. As per my habits, I am late to the parade of trends.  Of all the recommendations I read before watching the movie, the majority of the reviews had the same ...

The Butterfly Effect - An Allegory

On a rainy afternoon, Geet ran out the door to the courtyard, the single sheet of paper rustling in her hands. the bare feet slapping against the rain-soaked cobblestone path to the house next door. To wait for the rain to stop seemed like an impossibly long span of time.  Before she could slow down, she saw the door open. Crashing into the arm of the person on the other side, her first thought was about the paper she was carrying. Paridhi under her weight could only see the biggest, brightest smile on her face.  She knew what it meant. Without speaking a single word she knew they would be spending the next three years of college together.  This was not the first time their life has led them to the same paths. It all started with both Mrs Tripathi and Mrs Sharma having to be taken in the same ambulance down to the local hospital, just before midnight on 21st June. Born just 3 minutes apart. Mrs Tripathi was fixated on naming her daughter Geet for the last three months, bu...

23 lessons for 23-year-old me.

I turned 23 yesterday.  This birthday was the most unusual because for the first time in my small life so far I have postponed my birthday celebration. This week I was swamped with deadlines, and my friends were still buzzing with Valentine's day celebrations (disadvantages of having a birthday right after the lovers' holiday). So we mutually agreed that we would party on the weekend instead. So I had a very intimate family dinner and went back to my desk after eating the cake.  However, this is not the point of this blog. Yesterday made me think "man! I have grown up!" because as a teenager I would spiral into sadness at this fact. I love birthday parties as much as I love reading. So not having all my favourite people around me and having a good time isn't how I envision my birthday.  That being said, I accepted the fact that I am older. I never imagined myself being 23, let alone any age other than retirement age. Again I'm touching on topics that are too d...
